Guess The Mystery Thing: Brass Bar Teardrop Necklace

Hey, you guys!  It is high time for another round of Guess The Mystery Thing! (New around here?  It's my guessing game giveaway, and everyone is invited to play.)  Shall we begin?

Take a look at my newest upcycled necklace design:

Can you identify the mysterious secret ingredient?  What is that odd metal centerpiece?

I just love the pretty patina, and the cool cutouts.  I'm not sure how difficult a challenge this is...we shall see.

First person to guess correctly will receive a fabulous prize!  (Namely, this nifty necklace.)

How it works: leave your guess in the comments.  There'll be two winners: first correct guess and a random winner.  That's right, I said random winner - so even if you don't know (or think someone else already got it), enter anyway, you could still win.  If your guess is funny, it might make my Most Creative Honor Roll.

This giveaway is open to anyone, anywhere.  C'mon, join in!

THE ONE AND ONLY RULE

1. UNLESS YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IS ONE CLICK AWAY IN AN ONLINE PROFILE, PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS WITH YOUR GUESS.

Ready?  Set!  Guess the Mystery Thing!

  10. A safety lock or, even more likely, a mold for troll teeth. Normal troll teeth are diamonds (true, that.) but seeing as a great many trolls who have come from the mountains to the big cities have taken to organized crime, they often tend to, well, loose their chewers one way or another. (mostly to pay up gambling debts or in illegal cage fights- they might be a bit slow, but city life can make them quite aggressive at times, I am told)
Replacement troll teeth are made from silly putty. I am not too sure why, it's nigh impossible to get a straight answer from a troll dentist. They really are an elusive bunch, and I am sorry to report that my inquiries were to no avail, so I have to let you guys down on this detail. Sorry.
Anyway, think I nailed it this time!!

  13. You stole a car from the Fairy Express! I didn't even know they had a junkyard for those things. You can tell that this one was a dining car. The large holes are where the windows go for the tables, and the small ones were where they put the lights.

  16. The lock idea is taken. As is the seven fingered knuckledusters for the digitally challenged. So I will get more specific and say it is the locking mechanism for a safe.

    1. Hi, Jill - I have written you three emails, and twice posted comments here on the blog, asking you to send me your address. If I don't know where you live, I can't send you your prize. This is my last try, my dear, then I give up. Please email me if you read this...

  19. If it has some teensy hooks, it's a kitchen pots and pans hanger for teensy tynsy chefs. Also you could put dangly jewels on the leetle hooks.

  22. The receiving end of a door lock. Not the in-the-door kind, but the on-the-door kind. Like the kind you need 14 of if you live in a bad neighborhood.

  23. It looks like a piece from a binder notebook. If not that, then it's a piece from some other office supply. jokittens@gmail.com

  24. You know, it kinda reminds me of those metallic corners used to reinforce drywall at outer wall corners... You know the kind I mean right? Yaaa, so that's my guess, k?

  25. I agree with Smrithy, even though I never heard of brass terminals or neutral links, wouldn't know where to find them, or what they are used for, but the Google Images look right. I hope that's not cheating.

But I really think it's Polly, the polydactyl cat's seven toed nail separator for her pedicures.

  26. Mich! You've got my brain in knots but I think I'll go for door hinge (I think!)
