School Supplies Jewelry!

Well, nearly back-to-school time.  Excited?  I am!  No, I'm not going back to school myself.  (Although I have two little nephews starting kindergarten and nursery school this year.)  I just love the whole aura of it.  The school supplies, the scholarly vibe, the school supplies, the new clothes, the school supplies, the fall weather.  The school supplies!

See what I made?

From these folders:

Dollar Tree has these cute mod ones right now.  You can find vinyl folders at any dollar store, year-round, with all manner of fun designs.  Go get some!  Cut them up!  Make jewelry!

Read on for the crazy easy DIY tutorial...

No words necessary!  Here goes...

Wasn't that simple?  Use the jump ring to attach your vinyl shape to chain or earring findings.  Maybe add some cute dangles or embellishments.  And boom!  Cute jewelry.

Fun fun fun!  Surprisingly strong, and so light you can wear huge, swingin' statement earrings like these...

...yet barely feel you're wearing anything.  Want to DIY?  Click here to go to a detailed tutorial for the cascading circle earrings.

Hope you liked this idea - see you next time!

  2. That is really cool! Did you try to use a little heat on the material? I am curious what would happen to the stuff... I could image some really flowery things then! :)

  5. Super cute, as usual. Love how you can make such interesting things from stuff we wouldn't have thought of as craft supplies. Like Saraccino's idea of heat, too.
