Time to reveal the answer to this week's Guess The Mystery Thing challenge! Here are the jewels in question:
Wicked strange, aren't they? Can you identify the source of those mysterious red and green spears?
Did anyone get it right? Read on to find out!

Before I reveal the answer, here's Mich's Honor Roll Of Most Creative (Totally Wrong) Guesses:
Betsy: Carrots from a Troll garden, right?
Carol: Oompa Loompa toothpicks.
Ashley: Pinocchio! Now why did you steal his nose? And what, you made him lie so it would grow back and you could steal it again?
Amy: Lego Darth Vader light sabers.
Lola: Body piercing tapers for creating large holes in the earlobes for the hip, young tribal set!
Lisbonlioness: You snatched the horns off two goats from Munchkinland and two from the Emerald City, wicked as you are! Tsk, too easy this time, I'm afraid. Sorry I spoiled it for everybody, but I'll have the ring, please, thank you.
Shannon: Mini saber tooth tiger teeth, dyed green and red for Christmas in July.
Annie: Incense sticks that you use for your daily seances.
Shea: Candy canes sucked down to a point.
Miranda: Jousting spears for a Knight-in-Shining-Armor Ken doll.
Michele: Small colorful stalactites that you spirited from a subterranean water cave under LA. And only you know its location, you lucky thing.
Squarefeet: You have been dehorning pygmy Christmas unicorns.

Hee hee!
Okay, enough horsing around.
Ready for the answer?
By the way, nobody guessed it (although one person was close-ish). I stumped you again, whee!
Look:
They are combs for braiding horse manes and tails! (A beatiful art form in its own right.)
I spotted my combs at a feed store where I was purchasing castrating bands. Loved the colors and the wonderful silhouette, and at forty-nine cents each, I had to have them! I used a wire snipper to nip off the individual teeth.
Winners winners! No one got the exact answer, but Meijo'sJOY was the one clever cutie to mention a comb, so she gets first prize. Yay PC! And my random.org winner: Anne P! Congrats, you two, I'll email you anon.
Thanks to every one of you for coming out to play. See you again soon!
Hihi! That is really strange and cool at the same time!
ReplyDeleteHow daft I am!
ReplyDeleteI used to brush and style horses' manes every summer for fun when I was younger, but then again, I used my own brushes and combs. (what?)
Genius! They do look wonderful.
Congrats to the lucky winners!
Gotta get to a feed store to find some inspiration! Great repurpose!
