Guess the Mystery Thing: Balls In Your Court.

Yikes!  We are waaaay past due for a new round of Guess The Mystery Thing.  (If you're new around here, it's a crafty guessing game giveaway.  And you - yes, you! - are cordially invited to play.)   Ready to be challenged?

Please to study my latest upcycled jewelry project, these long swingy necklaces:

Do you like them?  Sorta mod, sorta Zen...and mysterious, I hope.  What are those fancy buttressed balls?

First person to guess correctly wins a fabulous prize.  (Namely, your choice of one of these necklaces.)

How it works: leave your guess in the comments.  There'll be two winners: first correct guess, and a random winner.  That's right, I said random winner - so even if you don't know (or think someone else already got it), enter anyway, you could still win.  And if your guess is funny, it might make my Most Creative Honor Roll.

This giveaway is open to anyone, anywhere.  C'mon, join in!

THE ONE AND ONLY RULE

1. UNLESS YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IS ONE CLICK AWAY IN AN ONLINE PROFILE, PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS WITH YOUR GUESS.  (Fun fact: if you only THINK your email is visible in your profile, it probably isn't.)

Ready?  Set!  Guess the Mystery Thing!

UPDATE: THIS CHALLENGE IS NOW CLOSED.  THANKS FOR PLAYING, EVERYBODY!  REVEAL COMING SOON...

  2. Too easy... These are Dryer Fluff Balls, that you toss in the dryer to help fluff up your clothing/towels/whatever without having to use fabric softener.

  3. Dang, Welmoed beat me to my guess. Well then, I suppose I'll go with... what you find inside a bouncy ball if you cut it in half!

  5. My umpteenth failed attempt at making tortillas, and they were soooo hard this time that I was able to make slits in them and make them into a garland type hanging ornament that ended up being a great pendant for you! I the color came from trying to be Easter themed with the dough....

  7. I cannot believe that you would post this! Shame on you! Why of course, it is the thong organizer insert..you know, the plastic piece inside the egg shaped container to keep your itty bitty barely-there thongs separated. Wow! You are a brave woman! :)

    1. Wait, another person already said that, dang! Hmm. I know, they are the next window display for Anthropologie! They will insert stems and make them into flowers or string them up as garlands. Yep. That has got to be it.

  11. They are play-dough cutters and molds for my kids. You can roll 'em around to get odd shapes, and make little pyramids out of the inserts. ^_^ m4pl3g1rl (at) gmail (dot) com

  15. You see, we naughty junior high kids decided that putting a tack on the teacher's chair was getting pretty old, so the geeks invented a spike ball to stick there instead. When somebody sits on it, the ball makes a horrible stick, drawing all eyes in the room, just in time to see a liquid yellow gunk dripping from the chair. Mwahahahahahahahahahahah! (That's why we nerds are so pale) Oh, and FWI Mr. Kramer, the stain doesn't come out.

  16. Lovely necklaces. I'm thinking of either the plastic things you use to protect the corners of your furniture, or they are the things you hold to keep the socks together so they aren't separated in the laundry.....I think.... :-)

  17. Not sure this time...but they remind me of cookies or crackers...mmmmm ;)

  18. Not sure of their proper name but they're laundry balls. You put them in the dryer with your clothes.

  19. Love all the answers so far, but I think it is a magic ball from the smurfs and what you are doing with it, I have NO IDEA, but they probably want it BACK! They are probably looking around all over for it right now like mad! Can you imagine what a ruckus you have caused in their little world....
