Who is ready for a new game of GUESS THE MYSTERY THING? (Me! Me!) It's really fun and anyone can play. Just take a gander at my new upcycled jewelry project:
Can you identify what I used to make the focal piece?
It's something very specific, and familiar to many of you.
It's something very specific, and familiar to many of you.
Pretty? Want to win one? Tell me, what are those mysterious objects? No hint this time, because I think it's going to be easy peasy.
How it works: Leave your guess in the comments. There will be two winners: first correct guess and one random guess. That's right, a random winner! So even if you're stumped, guess anyway - you could still win.
This giveaway is open to anyone, anywhere. (You don't even have to be a follower of the blog, although I would lurve it if you were.)
The one and only rule:
1. If your email isn't available in one click from an online profile, please, please, please include your email address with your guess.
Okay, me hearties! Ready? Set! GUESS THE MYSTERY THING!!!
Those look like slices of Scrabble tile holders -- the wooden bars that hold the Scrabble tiles. Maybe cut with a bandsaw to get the nice even slices? Interesting use for them.
ReplyDeleteThey're miniature doll furniture legs. LOL!

I know this one too! Two in a row! It's the wooden tray you use to hold Scrabble tiles! I have a ton of these because I wanted to make Scrabble tile jewelry. I didn't even think about using the trays!

ReplyDeleteScrabble tile holders or ingenious use of wooden puppet feet. Can't wait for the tutorial.
ReplyDeleteThey are slices of the wood sold for cornices ( not sure if that's the right word though!) They look really good, and I love your blog!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking some kind of wood molding, but I thing the scrabble guesses are right.
ReplyDeleteAlready been said but I recognized them immediately as slices of Scrabble racks. :)
ReplyDeleteDoll house crown molding.
ReplyDeleteOK, I had to turn my head a few times, but figured out they're slices of scrabble tile holders. I'm late to the party as usual, cuz so many other smarties guessed the same thing.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant necklaces!!
They are definitely hunks of wooden moulding! Yesssssss! (Did I get it? Did I finally get it? Could it be that I actually got it? Can I do a dance?)
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one whose scrabble tile holders are made of cheap green plastic? (right, that's no guess at all!)

I think someone suggested the right answer already. So, I have to make a 'special' answer for this...This is the "Ying and Yang Kissing Wood Pieces" wear it to balance you "Zen" and "Qi" during crafting! Oh Mitch, I love your blog!
ReplyDeleteI think is done, Scrabble tile holders!!!!
ReplyDeletebut it looks like half mini holder for plates for Barbie's house maybe:-)
Scrabble tile trays. GREAT use for them! I've seen the tiles themselves used many ways, but never the trays.
ReplyDeleteyes, they are obviously shoe inserts for leprechauns little green felt booties, they slide these in at night to help retain the shape
ReplyDeleteAfter a busy day of guarding the gold at the end of the rainbow and where there is a rainbow there is rain! as we all know felt has to be blocked after it gets wet, from the rain, by the rainbow, yup.
Definitely scrabble tile holder slices.
ReplyDeletelate again.....Definitely scrabble tile holder slices.
ReplyDeleteslices of a wooden frame , or left overs from your windows renovation ...
ReplyDeleteOh of course Scrabble tile holders!
ReplyDeleteIt's milled lumber - cornice? - that you have cut at a 90 degree angle and decorated... I love it! Were you in the Home Depot recently? I really admire your ingenuity!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Since Scrabble tile holders is taken I'm going to say that this is mini version of one of the sculptures in the Minnapolis Sulpture Gardens outside the Walker Art Center.
ReplyDeleteSliced scrabble tile holders. :)
ReplyDeleteBookends for a dollhouse library. Hey dolls like to read when no one is playing with them. marydeforge@gmail.com
ReplyDeletehobbit door stops
ReplyDeleteI can't concur with the scrabble tile holder slice answer because (1) too many people already said it and I want to be different, and (2) in one photo, it seems the inside is too rough and the outside is too smooth for a tile holder that's been sliced.
ReplyDeleteSo.... my answer is decorative brackets or cornices or whatever they're called to support bookshelves in doll houses. Bought them at Barbie's local Ikea, right?
Hi, Mich here. I am ending the game at this point. No more guesses, please! Reveal soon, and WINNERS, yay!
