Watch the Birdie! Part 3: red rubber baubles.

One last post, in my series of Badminton Birdie Baubles. If you saw the two previous tutorials, you will recall how I took this package of dollar store shuttlecocks:

And turned them into pendants like this:

And some earring like these.

Pretty cute, and so fun to make.

However! I felt super guilty, ignoring the round red tips of the birdies in favor of working with the easier, more feminine lacy bits.

I mean, jeepers, you guys! Just because something looks like a red rubber clown nose -

...is no reason it should not become jewelry, is it? Is it? And so, in a spirit of non-judgmental inclusiveness...

Some amusing avant garde rings.

And some fun and funky wirework pendants.

There. I feel much better. You see, we must not judge in advance. Anything can become jewelry!

That's right, I said anything. If anyone wants to challenge me, I would love to take it on.
And a big thank you to today's lovely model J.P. Patches, a local Seattle TV icon. Everything I need to know, I learned from J.P.

  1. In the last photo, the ring on the right looks like a smiley peeking out of the rubber. How cute is that?

  3. well you used everypart of that birdie...thats cool. I do like the one that looks like a smilie peeking out. The second pendent with the yellow bead in it looks nice. its smiple, but still edgy too. I need to borrow your train of though some days.
